Visitors this Halloween will see two customs side by side. Imported trick-or-treating is back, but in many towns, from the Campidano to the Nuorese, Sassarese and Gallura, children still go door to door for the dead. Local names include su mortu mortu, is animas and su prugadoriu. Households may give tangerines, dried fruit, pastries or bread.
Seasonal sweets run until Monday: pabassinas (raisin-based and diamond-shaped), ossu de mortu (glazed biscuits) and pan'e saba, made with cooked grape must.
Two events have no calendar date. In Cagliari, the Planetario de L'Unione Sarda runs a stars-and-ghosts show today and tomorrow from 5 p.m. In Ossi, Enjoy Parade 2026 – Halloween Edition starts at midnight at Blu Star Multisound, with DJs Tommyknocker and Jimmy The Sound. No prices or booking details were given.
