The first snow of the season has fallen on Bruncu Spina, one of the highest peaks in Sardinia, in the Gennargentu massif. The summit, above 1,570 meters, has turned white, and a reading of 0 degrees was recorded there.
The change comes from a cold air mass of Arctic origin that has reached Italy and pulled temperatures down on the island as well.
For visitors, this means cooler conditions across Sardinia. Anyone planning to head into the Gennargentu highlands should pack warm layers, since the high ground is already at freezing.
