Punta Molentis is a beach near Villasimius, on the south-eastern coast of Sardinia in the Cagliari area. It is a narrow tongue of pale sand closed in by rounded granite rocks, with the sea on both sides. One side is shallow, sandy and clear, while the rockier side is deeper and a darker blue, and popular with swimmers who like to watch the fish.
Because the beach is small, access is limited in the busy months. Reviewers say it is best to arrive early, and that there is a charge per person to enter. The last stretch is a short walk from the car park, or a gravel track if you come by bike. Some visitors arrive by boat instead. There are a couple of small bars by the shore, and the beach has a mix of free and private areas.
Spring and autumn mornings are described as the quietest and most atmospheric time to visit, with views along the coast towards Capo Carbonara.
