Some days are beautiful from the start. And then they become unforgettable.
One of those days began in the heart of Golfo Aranci, where the town square was alive with music, traditional Sardinian dances, and the scent of the sea carried by a light coastal breeze. The atmosphere was vibrant yet authentic â locals chatting, children running around with gelato in hand, musicians playing rhythmic folk tunes that seemed to echo across the harbor.
After wandering through the festive streets and pausing to watch the colorful costumes swirl during the traditional dances, we felt that pleasant hunger that only a morning by the sea can bring. Thatâs when we decided to stop for lunch at Restaurant Pizzeria al Belvedere, drawn in by its panoramic terrace overlooking the water.
We arrived with the sun high in the sky, the harbor sparkling like a sheet of glass in front of us. The view was almost unreal â fishing boats gently rocking, shades of turquoise and deep blue blending into the horizon, and the distant outline of the coastline completing the scene. It felt less like sitting at a restaurant and more like stepping into a Mediterranean postcard.
The children didnât hesitate: pizza was the obvious choice. Thin crust, perfectly baked, fragrant with fresh tomato and mozzarella â simple, yet full of flavor. We chose dishes from the restaurantâs menu that celebrated local ingredients: fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, and classic Sardinian touches prepared with care. Nothing overly elaborate, just honest cooking made with heart.
Each bite felt genuine. The kind of food that makes you pause, smile, and quietly say, âThis is truly good.â
As we ate, we watched the boats drift in and out of the marina and reflected on the morningâs music and laughter. Time seemed to slow down. Conversations flowed easily. The sea breeze softened the midday heat.
It wasnât just lunch. It was a moment of connection â with the place, with each other, and with the simple beauty of Sardinia.
Some memories fade. Others stay with you.
This one will always taste like the sea. đâš
