San Pantaleo on Thursdays
On Thursdays, the piazza of San Pantaleo fills with stalls, granite backdrops, and the easy rhythm of a Gallura morning. This is where you can meet Dalila and her label, DalilaCI: a Sardinian swimwear brand rooted in place and craft.
San Pantaleo sits inland from the Costa Smeralda, an easy drive from the coast. The market is compact, friendly, and ideal if you prefer made-in-Italy goods over imports.
DalilaCI: swimwear with a Sardinian point of view
DalilaCI started with a clear idea: swimwear as wearable craft, made close to home. Every piece is designed, cut, assembled, and finished in Sardinia, using quality, durable fabrics and Italian making. The approach is slow and careful, shaped by the same attention you see in traditional Gallura baking and textiles.
Three non‑negotiables guide the brand: quality, uniqueness, originality. Collections are small. Prints are created in-house. You will not see the same pattern on every beach.
Prints that speak Gallura
DalilaCI’s patterns draw from the Mediterranean scrub: arbutus, mastic, wild rosemary. You will also spot a favorite motif, the Gallura rooster, a nod to San Pantaleo’s white church on the square and to local folk symbols. It is a precise, place-based design that feels like a memory you can wear.
Inclusive fits and made to measure
Comfort matters. DalilaCI offers a wide size range and, when needed, a made‑to‑measure service. The goal is simple: a suit that fits well so you can enjoy your time in the water 🧵
Where to find DalilaCI
- San Pantaleo market every Thursday, in the village square
- Seasonal markets in Cannigione and summer fairs across Gallura
- Daily updates and new prints on Instagram: @dalila.c.i
If you plan a dedicated visit, aim for morning for cooler temperatures and easier parking. Bring a tote; many makers offer limited runs that sell out mid-season.
Planning your visit
Getting there
Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is the main gateway to the area and operates seasonal European routes, according to the airport operator Geasar. From Olbia, it is about 30 minutes by car to San Pantaleo. Roads are paved and well signed; traffic builds in July and August. Taxis are available, but a rental car offers the most flexibility for beaches and small towns.
Market tips
- Arrive early for parking near the village center. Use designated lots and avoid blocking residential access.
- Carry a small amount of cash. Many artisans accept cards, but not all.
- Ask about care: most suits prefer a gentle hand wash and shade dry. Keep the maker’s card for future orders or alterations.
- If you want a custom size, take quick measurements before you travel or schedule a fitting at the stall.
Make a day of it
After the market, choose a nearby beach or plan a nature break. The National Park of the La Maddalena Archipelago is a protected land and marine area with boat services from the Gallura coast, according to the park authority Parco Nazionale Arcipelago di La Maddalena. Alternatively, linger for lunch in a countryside agriturismo, then return to San Pantaleo’s square for an evening stroll.
Why this belongs in your Sardinia itinerary
Markets show what a place values. In San Pantaleo, that means hands-on craft, small batches, and conversations with the people who make what they sell. Meeting Dalila puts a face to Sardinia’s contemporary design scene and gives you a souvenir with real roots: a suit that carries the scent of rosemary and the profile of Gallura’s granite hills.
